Mieczysław Weinberg in Katowice
On 14 December 2016 Przemysław Witek will perform works by Mieczysław Weinberg in the Concert Hall of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. The first half of the programme features solo works (Sonata No. 2 in A minor Op. 8 and Children's Notebook No. 1 Op. 16), while the second half presents the Piano Quintet Op. 18.

Przemysław Witek will be joined by Dorota Warcaba (violin I), Katarzyna Szydłowska (violin II), Tomasz Citak (viola) and Łukasz Dziedziak (cello).
The following day the pianist will give a lecture on Weinberg’s output in its cultural, historical and biographical context.
