New Album – Johannes Brahms

We are delighted to announce the release of Przemysław Witek's new album, on which the artist, together with Adam Domurat and the CoOperate Orchestra he leads, has recorded Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major Op. 83. The disc is rounded out by a solo recording of the Three Intermezzi Op. 117.

Konarzewo Music Festival

Chopin & Małucha Recital

Chopin Marathon

On 11 November 2022 Przemysław Witek will perform Chopin's Mazurkas Op. 67 and Waltzes Op. 70 as part of the Chopin Marathon organised by Polish Radio Chopin in Studio S1 of Polish Radio.

Chopin Picnic at the Gorzow Philharmonic

This summer, on 14 August 2022, Przemysław Witek will perform an open-air concert in the Chopin Picnics series organised by the Gorzow Philharmonic. The programme features Chopin's 12 Études Op. 25 and the four Ballades.

Songs of Maria Zamoyska

On 2 July 2022, joined by Małgorzata Woltmann-Żebrowska (mezzo-soprano), Marta Błaszak (soprano), Marta Gidaszewska (violin) and the Castellum Cantans Choir under Dariusz Tabisz, Przemysław Witek will give a concert devoted to the music of Countess Maria Zamoyska.

Piano Duets

On 4 April 2022, with Małgorzata Sajna-Mataczyńska and Piotr Żukowski at Aula Nova in Poznań, Przemysław Witek will perform piano duets by Schubert, Schumann, Noskowski and Poulenc.

Year of Polish Romanticism Celebrations in Poznań

On 2 June 2022, marking the Year of Polish Romanticism in Poznań, Przemysław Witek will give a recital of works by Chopin, with readings from Polish Romantic literature presented by Aleksander Machalica.

Liszt Recital

On Sunday 19 December 2021 at 5 p.m. at Aula Nova, as part of the "Pianists at Paderewski's" series, **Przemysław Witek** will perform an all-Liszt recital marking the 210th anniversary of Ferenc Liszt's birth.

Chopin Recital

On 17 October 2021 Przemysław Witek will give a Chopin recital in Pniewy, performing alongside Aleksander Machalica.

The Complete Études of Rachmaninoff

On 26 May 2021 Przemysław Witek and Nikolas Niemierowski will perform all of Rachmaninoff's études at Aula Nova in Poznań.

Chopin Études at the Szeligowski School

On 28 September 2020 Przemysław Witek will perform Chopin's 12 Études Op. 25 at a recital at the Tadeusz Szeligowski Primary Music School in Poznań. The programme also includes Beethoven's Sonata in C-sharp minor Op. 27 No. 2.

Concert at the Lower Silesian Philharmonic

On 18 September 2020, with the Lower Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under Paweł Kapuła, Przemysław Witek will perform Chopin's Variations in B-flat major on "Là ci darem la mano" Op. 2.

Poznań Piano Masterclasses

Przemysław Witek and Piotr Żukowski will lead piano masterclasses at the Fan Piano Salon in Poznań from 24 August to 4 September 2020.

Cello Mosaic

At the invitation of cellist Zofia Kulisiewicz, Przemysław Witek carried out the project "Cello Mosaic". Supported by the "Culture Online" scholarship, the artists recorded three episodes presenting little-known sonatas for cello and piano.

University Philharmonic in Wroclaw

With the University Philharmonic Orchestra in the Concert Hall of Polish Radio Wroclaw, on 11 November 2019 Przemysław Witek will perform Juliusz Zarębski's Piano Quintet in G minor Op. 34, supplemented by solo works of Chopin.

Chopin Études in Duszniki

On 8 November 2019, the rescheduled October concert by Przemysław Witek will take place at the Chopin Manor in Duszniki-Zdroj, with a programme including the 12 Études Op. 25.

Chopin at the Polish Ambassador's Residence in Berlin

On 18 October 2019 Przemysław Witek gave a Chopin recital for distinguished guests, including the Ambassadors of Belgium and Japan, gathered at the Polish Ambassador's residence in Berlin to mark the 170th anniversary of Chopin's death.

Paderewski Festival

Poznań will host its first ever Paderewski Festival. Przemysław Witek will perform on 17 October 2019, presenting works by Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Fryderyk Chopin in the White Hall of the Hotel Bazar.

Masterclasses and Recital in Kolobrzeg

On 16–17 May 2019 Przemysław Witek will lead masterclasses for pupils of the State Primary Music School in Kolobrzeg and give a recital featuring selected Études by Chopin.

Wieniawski Piano Trio

On 11 May 2019 in Duszniki-Zdroj and 26 May 2019 in Poznań, the Wieniawski Piano Trio will inaugurate its activity. The programme features the rarely performed Piano Trio in G major Op. 40 by Józef Wieniawski.

Chopin Recital in Duszniki

On 1 March 2019, marking the 209th anniversary of Chopin's birth, Przemysław Witek will give a recital in Duszniki-Zdroj.

Concert in Astana

On 9 December 2018 Przemysław Witek will give a concert marking the 100th anniversary of Poland's regained independence, organised by the Polish Embassy at the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana, where on 10 December he will also lead masterclasses for students of the Music Faculty.

Dąbrówka for Independence Day

On 12 November 2018, joining a local effort in support of a project under the Dopiewo Citizens' Budget, Przemysław Witek will perform works by Chopin, Paderewski and Szymanowski to mark Polish Independence Day.

The 24 Études of Fryderyk Chopin

C.P.E. Bach on the 300th Anniversary of His Birth

To mark the 300th anniversary of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's birth, Przemysław Witek will perform his Concerto in D major Wq 43/2 with the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under Maciej Tworek. The concert takes place on 28 March 2014.

Chopin in Autumn Colours 2015

Tokyo Debut

Przemysław Witek will make his Japanese debut at Kioi Hall on 24 March 2017. The pianist will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto in C minor K. 491 with the Mozart Virtuoso Orchestra under Maestro Mitsuyoshi Oikawa.

Polish Fantasy in Koszalin

On 9 November 2018 Przemysław Witek will perform Paderewski's Polish Fantasy Op. 19 with the Koszalin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Jakub Chrenowicz, as part of the Tutti.pl initiative of the Polish Music Publishers (PWM).

Brahms Festival

On 8 April 2017 Przemysław Witek and the CoOperate Orchestra under Adam Domurat performed Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major Op. 83 at the closing concert of the Brahms Music Festival, marking the 120th anniversary of the composer's death at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań.

"Musical Spaces" Festival 2014

Przemysław Witek will perform at the "Musical Spaces" Festival, presenting Max Bruch's superb "Acht Stücke" Op. 83 with Janusz Wawrowski (violin) and Katarzyna Budnik-Gałązka (viola), alongside songs by Nowakowski and Brahms with soprano Bogumiła Dziel-Wawrowska.

1st International "Andrzej Nikodemowicz – Time and Sound" Festival

Bartosz Woroch and Przemysław Witek will perform at the First International "Andrzej Nikodemowicz – Time and Sound" Festival. On 26 September 2012, in the Lublin Philharmonic Concert Hall, they will play Nikodemowicz's 6 Lullabies, Ravel's Posthumous Sonata and Weinberg's Violin Sonata No. 4.

Inauguration of the 2017/2018 Academic Year

On 9 October 2017 Przemysław Witek will appear as soloist at the ceremonial concert inaugurating the 2017/2018 academic year at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. With the Academic Symphony Orchestra under Warcisław Kunc, he will perform Szymanowski's Symphony No. 4 (Symphonie concertante) Op. 60.

Season Opening in Podgorica

On 24 October 2013 Przemysław Witek inaugurated the concert season of the Montenegrin National Symphony Orchestra, performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor Op. 21 under Grigorij Krasko. Reviews of the concert can be read at the links below.

Concert at the Jubilee Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk

Przemysław Witek gave the world premiere of Mikołaj Hertl's Piano Concerto, written for the 50th Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk. "Concerto alla polacca" was first performed on 14 September 2016 with the Polish Sinfonia Baltica Philharmonic Orchestra under Bohdan Jarmołowicz.

Concert in Singapore

Przemysław Witek will appear in Singapore for the second time. On 29 June 2014 he will perform in the popular "Piano Concert at Dusk" series organised by the Polish Embassy at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Concert with Anna Maria Staśkiewicz

On 22 December 2012, at the Henryk Wieniawski Theatre in Szczawno-Zdroj, Przemysław Witek will perform for the first time with violinist Anna Maria Staśkiewicz. The artists will play Falla's Suite populaire espagnole, Beethoven's Sonata in G major Op. 30 No. 3, Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances, Lutosławski's Subito and Franck's Sonata in A major.

Concert with Jakub Chrenowicz and the Plock Symphony Orchestra

On 22 March 2013 Przemysław Witek performed Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor Op. 16 with the Plock Symphony Orchestra under Jakub Chrenowicz. More information at www.orkiestraplock.pl.

Concert with the Wratislavia Ensemble

Przemysław Witek will perform at the inaugural concerts of the Wratislavia Ensemble, joining Tomasz Kulisiewicz (violin) and Bożena Papała (cello) in Shostakovich's Piano Trio Op. 8 and Bartók's Piano Quintet, with guest artists Dorota Graca (violin) and Rafał Zambrzycki-Payne (violin).

Chopin's Piano Concertos

Przemysław Witek will perform in a concert held as part of the public-awareness campaign "12th Polish Cystic Fibrosis Week". At Aula Nova in Poznań, Prof. Wojciech Cichy of the Poznań University of Medical Sciences will talk about Chopin's connection to this severe illness, and both of Chopin's Piano Concertos will be performed by Piotr Szychowski, Przemysław Witek and the Anova String Quartet.

Concerts and Masterclasses in Nanchang

Between 21 and 23 July 2018 Przemysław Witek gave two recitals and led a three-day masterclass at the Music Faculty of Nanchang University.

Concerts in Asia

On his first concert tour of Asia, Przemysław Witek performed at the Alliance Française Theatre in Singapore (30 June 2013), at the Nanjing University of the Arts (8 July 2013) and at the Qingdao Concert Hall (12 July 2013) in China.

Concerts in China

Przemysław Witek will once again perform in China, continuing his collaboration with the YiJie Arts Institute, the organiser of his 2013 Chinese tour. This time he will appear on 23 August 2015 at the Wuxi Grand Theater and on 29 August 2015 at the Zhangjiagang Grand Theater (with baritone Chen Jie).

Mieczysław Weinberg's Piano Quintet

On 26 March 2015 Przemysław Witek, together with outstanding students of the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music — Dorota Warcaba, Katarzyna Szydłowska, Tomasz Citak and Łukasz Dziedziak — will perform Weinberg's Piano Quintet Op. 18.

Piano Quintets by Shostakovich and Fauré

On 2 December 2016, with the Wratislavia Ensemble at the Sudeten Philharmonic, Przemysław Witek performed Fauré's Piano Quintet in C minor Op. 115 and Shostakovich's Piano Quintet in G minor Op. 57. See the photo gallery from the concert.

Mieczysław Weinberg – Polish Premiere

Between 6 and 11 December 2014 Przemysław Witek will give concerts devoted to the piano music of Mieczysław Weinberg. They will take place in Moscow, Warsaw and Poznań and form part of a project supported by the scholarship of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

Mieczysław Weinberg in Katowice

On 14 December 2016 Przemysław Witek will perform works by Mieczysław Weinberg in the Concert Hall of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. The first half of the programme features solo works (Sonata No. 2 in A minor Op. 8 and Children's Notebook No. 1 Op. 16), while the second half presents the Piano Quintet Op. 18.

Music at Gałczyński's

Poetry by K.I. Gałczyński and music by J.S. Bach, F. Chopin and K. Szymanowski make up Przemysław Witek's recital on 9 August 2015, presented as part of the 32nd Artistic Season at the Gałczyński Museum in the Pranie forester's lodge.

Pianists at Paderewski's

On 13 January 2016 Przemysław Witek inaugurated the new concert series of the Poznań Academy of Music, "Pianists at Paderewski's", performing Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor BWV 826, Beethoven's Piano Sonata in C major Op. 2 No. 3, Chopin's Ballade in G minor Op. 23 and Rachmaninoff's nine Études-Tableaux Op. 39.

First Edition of the "May Musical Encounters" Festival

Przemysław Witek has been appointed artistic director of the first edition of the "May Musical Encounters" Festival in the Valley of Palaces and Gardens of the Jelenia Góra Basin. From 30 April to 4 May 2014 the festival's artists will perform Polish, German and Czech chamber music.

World Premiere in Lublin

On 20 April 2018 Przemysław Witek and the Lublin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under Przemysław Fiugajski will give the world premiere of Mikołaj Hertl's Piano Concerto "The Seer of Lublin".

Przemysław Witek to Play for Chopin's Birthday

Przemysław Witek will take part in an innovative project by young Warsaw cultural promoters, celebrating Chopin's birthday over eight days from 22 February to 1 March 2013 with Chopin concerts in shopping centres in Warsaw, Poznań and Krakow.

Recital at the 49th Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk

On 10 September 2015 Przemysław Witek gave a Chopin recital at the 49th Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk. A review of the festival appears in the October issue of Ruch Muzyczny.

Recital in Bishkek

On 12 April 2018, during the Days of Polish Culture in Kyrgyzstan, Przemysław Witek will perform a recital of music by F. Chopin, K. Szymanowski, I.J. Paderewski and M. Weinberg in the Concert Hall of the National Conservatory of Music in Bishkek.

Recital at Aula Nova in Poznań

On 12 November 2012 Aula Nova in Poznań will host a solo recital by Przemysław Witek. The first half features Beethoven's Sonata in C major Op. 2 No. 3, Chopin's Scherzo in C-sharp minor Op. 39 and Scriabin's Sonata No. 5 Op. 53.

On 14 May 2016 Przemysław Witek performed a recital titled "Chopin by the Lake", organised by the Polish Embassy in Singapore.

Recital with Barbara Borowicz

Beginning a long-term collaboration with one of the most distinguished clarinettists of the younger generation, Barbara Borowicz, Przemysław Witek will give a concert on 12 September 2015 at the Teatro di Monza, part of the cultural events surrounding EXPO 2015 in Milan.

Recital with Katarzyna Hołysz

On 12 April 2015, as part of the Festival of Passion and Easter Music, Przemysław Witek will perform with the renowned soprano Katarzyna Hołysz at the church in Lusowo, presenting songs by Chopin, Moniuszko, Nowowiejski and Szymanowski, alongside Richard Strauss's "Vier letzte Lieder".

World Premiere of A. Nikodemowicz's Piano Sonata

On 24 April 2014, during a recital at the Classic Studio of Polish Radio Lublin, Przemysław Witek will give the world premiere of Prof. Andrzej Nikodemowicz's Piano Sonata. The programme also includes Bach's Partita in C minor BWV 826, Brahms's Intermezzi Op. 117 and Szymanowski's Piano Sonata in C minor Op. 8.

Symphonie concertante in Kielce

Przemysław Witek will perform Szymanowski's Symphony No. 4 (Symphonie concertante) Op. 60 with the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra under Jacek Rogala. The concert will take place on 13 December 2013.

Concert Tour in China

Przemysław Witek has completed a concert tour of China, including performances in Suzhou (8 and 15 July), Nanjing (23 July), Wuxi (31 July) and Guangzhou (6 August), as well as masterclasses in Wuxi, Suzhou, Suqian, Nanjing and Guangzhou.

Przemysław Witek at Conservatorio Santa Cecilia

On 30 April Przemysław Witek gave a lecture on the piano music of Karol Szymanowski and performed a recital of his works at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome.
