Décadence

Przemek Witek’s debut album, featuring Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux Op. 39 and Karol Szymanowski’s Sonata in C minor Op. 8.

The album was released in February 2011 by Polskie Radio S.A. and Ponte Art Production (PRCD 1349). The recordings were made at the W. Lutosławski Studio in Warsaw on 2–5 October 2009.

This is my debut album, and it set my career in motion. Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux Op. 39 became a cornerstone of my repertoire, and I have had the pleasure of performing Szymanowski’s Sonata several times since. To this day I remember the recording sessions, and the whole production and promotion of the album, with great fondness.
